Fresh meat!!!
To celebrate Andrew finally reaching old age (I have been there for months) and have a bit of a babymoon we headed to the largest city around –Toronto. We stayed at a semi-posh zen- type downtown hotel and partied like it was 1999 - actually, we partied like we're old people. The first night we headed out for Korean BBQ - lots of meat, some fish and then more meat. Yummy in a carnivorous way. After a zen-like sleep complete with bubbling fountain, vanilla incense, and our complimentary turn-down meditation rock (no kidding: black opal both nights - we would have preferred chocolates) we headed out Saturday morning to the St Lawrence market for “The World’s Best Breakfast Sandwich” (Emeril Lagasse agrees). We stocked up on picnic delicacies and headed out to the Zoo. Taking the TTC to its limits we finally spent a beautiful day enjoying animals from around the world- who urinated, defecated, groomed and mated just for our amusement. That night we enjoyed a fabulous French feast at a swish French Bistro. What more could an ageing Papa-to-be and his older consort want?

Happy belated birthday, Andrew! Your weekend getaway sounded like tons of fun. Just think - next time you go to the zoo it will be with your little one!
