Is it just me or does Andrew's head look a bit bigger? Perhaps it's because he was awarded an NSERC- an important scholarship from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council. He didn't want me to write about this on the blog- he thought it would seem like bragging. Today he found out that he was one of only 2 successful applicants in his whole department. I suggested they get T-shirts made - go big head or go home!!! Just kidding- I am just soo proud!!!

Too much time
Yogalates class
So here is a photo of my yoga infusion/prenatal pilates class. It was the last class this session so one of the mommies- to-be took a photo. If I’d known I was going to be photographed I would have at least brushed my hair. My belly blends in well with everything else- but it does give a sense of largeness, n’est-ce-pas?

Andrew and Zoe as Ottawans
Since I can’t download the photo web hosting program at work I thought I would include this photo of me and Andrew here. It is quite out of date. I am much larger out in front and don’t fit into either piece of clothing seen here. Andrew looks the same- perhaps a bit older and less smiley (doing a PhD will do that to you). Taken by our dear friend Leah on our last day of being Ottawans before we headed off in our overloaded car (look closely to see brooms etc. piled high in the back of the rental car) to become Guelphites. The house in the background is the Croatian embassy. Makes Sandy Hill (our old neighborhood in Ottawa) look rather classy- don’t you think? Next to take some more recent photos of me with my big belly- so you can watch me grow.

St Patrick's Day and parental visit
This past weekend we celebrated St. Patrick's Day with a visit from Andrew's parents all the way from Perth (Ontario). Andrew made a delicious lamb stew with help from Heather and Doug. I contributed some walnut and raisin soda bread and an extremely sweet St. Patty's Day parfait. Who knew marshmallows had so many uses? Saturday was spent on a trip to St. Jacob's to see the farmers market and check out some antique stores. Sunday we stayed in Guelph and went to College Royal at the University of Guelph. Fistulated cows and humungous pigs- oh my.
With Andrew's parents came the crib kindly donated by our friend Caryn's parents. Also some of Andrew's childhood stuffed animals (Papa Smurf and mon chichi (sp?) among them). Two boxes of comic books which Andrew hopes to sell and finance the offspring's education are now ensconced in the basement. Andrew has already planned to read through them all and says if I am careful and wash my hands and put them all back in their plastic sleeves with the cardboard properly inserted I may also read them- No thanks. Who knew Andrew was such a nerd.
Hopefully once we have the crib put together and in the nursery- to-be we will be inspired to get our asses in gear.
