Finny's tree

We finally got a chance to plant Finn's plum tree in the backyard. With the extra nutrients provided by his placenta we hope the tree gives lots of sweet fruit! Finn enjoyed grabbing the leaves and feeling the dirt with his toes.

Nap time

sweet dreams!

Visit with Mommy-to-be

Nancy, Finn and Andrew enjoying the sun
Nancy shows us her garden

On Tuesday we braved the 401 to visit with Nancy in Toronto. Nancy is expecting her first (a boy named Luther) in July. Finn was very helpful in determining all the areas of her apartment that need baby proofing!

The young mozart and his instrument of choice

Finn is rather intense when playing on his xylophone. He likes to play it LOUD! He also really likes to turn it over and play the ridges on the back - like a zydeco "froittoir"(scrubboard).

I’m 10 months old

I can crawl up on my knees but now I only want to pull up and cruise around. I use boxes, overturned laundry hampers and chairs to help me “walk” around.

I love to clap and sing (it could sound like singing – if you’re tone deaf).

I have definite likes and dislikes and am quite willing to let you know which is which. Mummy and Daddy wish I could communicate with something other than a wail and a scream.

I am a very gregarious and outgoing baby – I smile at most strangers and “play” with other babies with ease.

I can put things “in” – but really enjoy dumping things “out”. I love unfolding the laundry. I seem to have a knack for finding the fastest way to get everything out and on the floor. Mummy and Daddy sometimes feel that tidying up is a rather futile exercise.

I like to crinkle up my nose – when I smile, laugh, stare etc. Mummy thinks I am imitating her squinting– she really needs new glasses.

Park!

On a sunny Sunday afternoon we took Finn for his first realy park adventure. The baby swings were still a bit big for him and he wasn't too keen on the slides at first. After a few swings on Daddy's lap and a swirl down the twisty slide with Mummy Finn was much happier.

Visit to Ajax

Last week we drove across the GTA (hate the traffic) to visit the cousins - Ishani and Samarra (they were visiting their maternal grandparents). Ishani is just on the cusp of walking by herself. Finn and Ishani were quite cordial to one another - although Finn did steal Ishani's cracker and made her cry. Samarra ate a chocolate ice cream cone as big as her head and was dancing around and around and around and.....

Finn has some Fonzie genes?

We thought he only did the thumbs up for pear slices (which he really likes) - but now we aren't sure what it means. Still working on Baby sign language - possibly got a "more" sign a few weeks ago - but since then nothing.

Finn hamming for the camera

Now whenever Finn sees a camera he starts hamming it up. We were trying to take photos of him wearing overalls Cabby sent from Uganda - quite tough when he's on the move.
