Motorcycle Maniac

We went to the Sacred Heart Church Bazaar.  They have rides and stuff for kids.  We were trying to convince Finn to try the bouncy inflated castle thing when he spied this mini-motorcycle track.  Quickly he evaded us and marched over to the cycles, climbed the curb, ducked the chain and hopped on a cycle.  Thinking that the bikes were probably turned off, we let him do as he wish.  Then... the bike started moving.  Thanks to Finn's persistence, someone eventually came over to open the ride.

Best ride ever as far as Finn's concerned.  He was enthusiastic, but wasn't great at steering, looking where he was going, or even pushing the pedal to make the thing go... but he was enthusiastic.

St Jacob's Market

We decided to take a trip up to St Jacob's Market this weekend. Bought some niagara cherries, local strawberries and grapes from mexico. Had a lunch of perogies and most importantly visited the petting zoo.

Finn enjoyed feeding the goats and sheep and resisted trying the pellets himself. Do these photos look familiar? I guess Finn and the goats are growing up together.

Playing in the Rain

Puddle splashing is a favourite rainy day past-time. Finn has a hard time remembering that it's a boots-only activity, but fortunately his sneakers dry fairly quickly.

Finn's silly face in front of our pile of dirt. We're finally getting the backyard in order.

Strawberry picking

Strawberry picking at Knapp's - just 15 minutes out of town.
Zoe and I strategically placed ourselves so Finn could run between us and graze.

When I first showed Finn this picture, his response was "gross, Daddy!" - I agree. The worst was that he kept trying to put strawberries like the one in his hand (that is - well chewed) into the collecting basket.
"Daddy, I like strawberries!"
Eating more strawberries the morning after.

Up the nose

Well we survived the first foreign object up the nose incident. Let's hope it's the last. Finn has discovered how enjoyable it is to stick his fingers up his nose and now has progressed onto objects up the nose. Tonight it was a piece of pear. It took some convincing, snorting and saline but eventually the piece came out. I don't know who was more relieved - us or Finn. While I hope this incident quells Finn appetite for stuff up the nose - I know better.....

Father's day 2008

Started the day with "old fashioned" extra thick bacon and crepes with strawberries and whipped cream. Card and book opened and read. Park visited. Evening festivities included all you can eat Japanese (were careful not to order too much this time) and a Ben and Jerry's ice cream cake!
